About position

As an Intern at DePoly R&D Department, you will support all the activities in the currently operated PET plastic recycling research lab and our pilot plant. You will also assist in designing, developing, and optimising the chemical recycling processes of the new upscaled DePoly Showcase Plant.

Responsibilities you'll be handling:
  • Be part of a team of chemists and chemical engineers, working in both the laboratory and our pilot plant
  • Support and develop your own R&D and QA projects in our laboratory, liaising with the chemical engineers at the pilot and showcase plants
  • Optimise different unit operations of the depolymerization reaction process
We expect you to have these skills:
  • You are an ambitious student who is currently enrolled in Chemistry, Materials, or Chemical Engineering
  • You can think independently, you are well organised and motivated, with the ability to cultivate and develop the role through the internship
  • You are a proactive team worker with good communication skills as part of small and large teams
  • You are passionate about green processes and sustainability
  • You are fluent in English (knowledge of French is a plus)
  • You have a Swiss working permit or be eligible to work in Switzerland
  • You will have some experience working in a chemistry lab
  • You can execute laboratory testing according to standard procedures, and ensure tasks related to quality standards and procedures are carried out in a specified manner
  • Nice to have – knowledge of analytical techniques and equipment such as HPLC, ICP, UV-VIS
